Curriculum & Education Design
We are at a time where integrating systems and sustainability content into core curricula is critical if we are to solve some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges. For too long, the dynamic interconnections of systems have been ignored, allowing for systems ignorance at all levels.
With years of expertise in designing impactful experiential education, integrating cognitive science and activating personal agency, Leyla’s educational work helps to create transformative learning experiences and educational content that enables new ways of engaging with and transferring knowledge.
Expert Sustainability Curriculum Design for Organisational and Academic Learning
Leyla’s commitment to designing impactful learning experiences stems from a deep passion for creating meaningful change through education. She founded an experiential knowledge lab for adults, The UnSchool of Disruptive Design, and has been invited to develop several other curricula to support transformative learning for sustainability.
Leyla Acaroglu challenges people to think differently about how the world works and inspires action for making positive change.
Combining her training as a social scientist, her 10+ years of experience in running The UnSchool and her PhD research into transformation change for sustainability, she brings a paradigm-shifting perspective to educational content and curriculum design.
Sustainability
Leyla’s learning experiences all center around actively creating a world that works better for us all—a circular, sustainable future. She works to equip learners with the science-based tools needed to address the complex environmental and social challenges of our time.
Systems Thinking
A respected leader in applied systems thinking for positive change, Leyla ensures learners develop the ability to “see” interconnected systems. This dynamic understanding of the system’s elements at play unlocks the ability to design high-impact holistic solutions.
Cultural Change
Change—and not just embracing it, but activating it—is Leyla’s wheelhouse. She excels at guiding individuals and organisations through the often complex and messy process of shifting mindsets and busting barriers to change.

How it works
After you reach out, we will connect with you on a call to establish your needs and goals, then send you a customised proposal that works within your budget. After finalizing the agreement, you can expect to flow through the following stages:
Start: Briefing
Every project starts with a detailed briefing call that involves key team members. This step ensures a clear understanding of specific needs, project goals, and current challenges. The discussion focuses on defining core project outcomes and exploring the most effective approaches to achieve alignment and success.
PHASE 1
Research and Development
Based on the briefing call, you will receive a specific documented plan that outlines all of the steps and stages of the work plan. Once you approve this, we will then move ahead with doing the work for you.
PHASE 2
Scope Delivery
This is where we do the agreed-upon work. Based on the developed timeline, you can expect regularly scheduled meetings where we will present the developed work for your feedback.
PHASE 3
Final Delivery
Once all agreed work is completed and revisions are complete, we will deliver it to you in the agreed package and ensure you are happy with the outputs.
“I don’t like to come in and try to solve other people’s problems; I like to collaborate around helping to shift the way an internal team can build their own capacity to do that. So, we use the different tools we’ve created to help bring that knowledge bank inside an organisation.”
